This was a first for us, being open on Voyageur Days, so wanted to send an extra BIG THANKS to the Town of Mattawa and Recreation Director Renee for making that happen this year.
Thank you to other businesses in town, as we were sending people to see you, you were sending people to see us and that is truly what we love about small town communities supporting each other.
Shout out and big thanks to all those who visited during what many were telling us was a “homecoming weekend” for them and how happy they were that they finally got to visit the Museum.
So many people who came were family visiting from out of town! Many shared stories of family and offered to share old photos that we can add to our new media presentations for everyone to see.
We had rock painting and mini paddle painting – big hits with all family members. Of course, seeing the Voyageur Canoe being built was/is another special part of the visit.
We’ve still got a lot of summer to enjoy, come share some stories!
