Marcel Labelle launched his double-hull canoe which is named “Birth of a Nation”. This is a teaching canoe, telling the story of our country, settlement on Turtle Island with our First Peoples and Europeans. It is a powerful message and well received by those gathered to celebrate with ceremony. This canoe is now on display inside the museum for the remainder of the season.

We invite you to come to visit. Marcel’s book The Knowledge Canoe is available and he is always willing to write a quick note inside your book.

We have new artisans who have their work in the giftshop! We have t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies available.
50/50 tickets are available online AND at the museum.
The Rock Painting shop is open. All ages welcome! This is going to be a great season, we are already open 7 days a week! 10am to 4:30 pm. We look forward to visiting with you and sharing stories.
Thank you, Meegwetch, Merci, Marcee
